APAAR ID in DigiLocker: Find, Sync & Download Your Student ID
1. Why DigiLocker is the Official Home of APAAR
DigiLocker is the Government of India’s flagship cloud-based document repository platform under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Through tight integration with the Ministry of Education's National Academic Depository (NAD), DigiLocker functions as the designated citizen repository for issuing authentic APAAR ID cards.
When an educational institution creates an APAAR ID, the resulting credential is encrypted and securely published into DigiLocker's database, tied to the student's authenticated Aadhaar record.
2. Ministry of Education Issuer Information
Inside the DigiLocker repository architecture, educational documents are cataloged under specific government issuers:
- Issuer Name: Ministry of Education (Department of Higher Education / School Education & Literacy)
- Designated Issuer ID:
010212(Ministry of Education Repository) - Issued Document Types: Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR), Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID Card, and CBSE marksheets.
3. Ensuring Your DigiLocker Profile Syncs Properly
For your APAAR ID to appear seamlessly in your DigiLocker Issued Documents, three prerequisites must be fulfilled:
- Aadhaar-Linked Mobile Number: Your DigiLocker account must be registered with the mobile number currently active on UIDAI records.
- Exact Name Match: The name on your DigiLocker profile matches the name entered by your school in UDISE+.
- Consent Status: The school must have finalized your consent verification on their administrative portal.
4. What to Do If APAAR Does Not Appear in "Issued Documents"
If you know your school has completed generation but your card is not showing up automatically:
- Go to Search Documents on the DigiLocker dashboard.
- Search for "APAAR" or "Academic Bank of Credits".
- Click on the document title and re-enter your student details (such as Admission Year and Roll Number or PEN).
- Click "Get Document". This triggers an instant pull from the Ministry of Education server.
