APAAR ID Card Download: How to Find APAAR ID in DigiLocker
Never use third-party download forms. DigiLocker is the authorized repository under the IT Act.
1. Official Download Overview
The official APAAR ID card is issued digitally as a legally recognized PDF document. Under Rule 9A of the Information Technology (Preservation and Retention of Information by Intermediaries Providing Digital Locker Facilities) Rules 2016, documents issued into DigiLocker are treated at par with original physical paper certificates.
To download your card, follow the official 6-step workflow outlined below using either the DigiLocker smartphone app (Android / iOS) or the web portal.
2. Step-by-Step DigiLocker Download Guide
Open the Official DigiLocker Platform
Visit digilocker.gov.in or open the official DigiLocker application downloaded from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Sign In Using Your Official Credentials
Enter your registered mobile number or Aadhaar number and your 6-digit security PIN. Enter the one-time password (OTP) sent to your mobile phone by UIDAI/DigiLocker.
Navigate to "Search Documents" or "Issued Documents"
First check the Issued Documents section. If your school has already linked your APAAR, the card may already appear ready for viewing.
Search for "APAAR" or "Ministry of Education"
If not in Issued Documents, click Search Documents. Under Education & Learning, search for "Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry" or "APAAR / ABC ID Card".
Input Verification Details
Provide your Student Name, Admission Type, Institution Name, and Permanent Education Number (PEN) or Roll Number as prompted by the official form.
Save & Download the Digitally Signed PDF
Once retrieved, click the PDF icon to view and save your official APAAR ID card. Ensure the green digital signature checkmark and QR code are visible.
3. What Information is on the Downloaded Card?
- Student Full Name: Exactly as recorded in institutional registers.
- Unique 12-Digit APAAR Number: Printed clearly for examination and admission forms.
- Gender & Date of Birth: Verified demographic values.
- Institution / School Details: Current or issuing educational board.
- QR Code & Digital Signature: Allows any official verifier to scan and validate authenticity against central servers.
